Lucy Evelyn Wilson (nee Cook), 85 of Port Perry, passed peacefully and surrounded by family, Wednesday January 21, 2026, at Lakeridge Health Port Perry. She is reunited with her beloved husband James Martin Wilson (1941-2021), whom she married in 1960. She was born 1940 in Lindsay, to parents Geraldine and Joseph Cook.
Lucy loved her family deeply and could always be counted on for a warm hug and a laugh in the good times, and to stand tirelessly in your corner when needed. She loved to share stories of family near and far. Her sharp mind and attention to detail meant that every picture, event and special item had a story to tell. She was an avid golfer, and she shared this passion with her husband and many family members. Her time on the links was a foundation for many cherished family memories and lifelong friendships. A longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and Past-President of Port Perry Branch 419, she demonstrated her tenacity, strength and care for her community and our veterans. Her crafty nature and skill with yarn were a source of joy for her and many of her loved ones were blessed with a tangible expression of her love in the form of her handknit blankets, scarves and mittens.
Lucy will be remembered by her sons Jim (Bev) and Alan, her grandchildren Sarah (Rob), Kristi, Nick, Matt, Wes, Andy and Omer, her great-grandchildren Owen, Elizabeth, William, Gryphon and Lowell, her siblings Kenneth (Marilyn) and Catherine (Jim), as well as her nieces and nephews Darrell, Kayla, Payton, Devyn, Sabrina (Scott), Cara (Dean), Joshua, Delaney, Chris (Michele), Steve (Annette), Alannah, Koltan (Karalee), Jo-Ann (Tom), Mary-Lyn (Brian) Nick and Adam. She is pre-deceased by her brothers and sisters-in-law Dave, Carol, Joan, Don and nephew Kenny.
Interment will follow in the spring.
